YOHANN BENSON'S GAME (65 AND FIVE SHOTS AHEAD) AS HOT AS THE HEAT
9 1/2 WITH MARIO:
There were two tournaments in Drummondville on Monday to launch the PGA of Quebec calendar: the Cobra Puma Golf Championship presented by Michelob Ultra and the other one by Yohann Benson.
Thanks to his spectacular six-under par 65, the Mirage representative had the upper hand with a five shot buzzer beater.
Max Gilbert of St-Georges and Tim Alarie of Saint-Jérôme shared second place at 70.
The winner started his round with a bogey on the second hole.
Watch out for the rest. The temperature was not the only thing that was hot in Drummond, as was Yohann's putter.
It is nothing less than four birdies in a row that he recorded on the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th holes for a first nine of 32.
The back nine started with a birdie before two more at the 14th and 15th for a total of seven.
His stellar solo performance earned him $2,000 from the $15,000 overall purse and the lead in the SFL Wealth Management points system.
