The Consultation Table did not steal the Pierre-Nadon Prize

Who says golf is an individual sport? Certainly not the Pierre-
Nadon committee, which honours an entire team for its collective and
also a very special achievement in 2020 in a pandemic situation.

It is the people at the Golf Industry Consultation Table who are celebrated for many
reasons whose names are stipulated in the table below.
Because golf was the first sport to reopen with tennis on May 20, because
not even a point or a comma of the protocol was changed by Horacio
Arruda and because Ontario has taken over the document are all explanations for the
Selection.

We know what's next. While it was far from sure that there would be a golf season , golf has nevertheless reached its highest  participation figures, dating back to its golden years.

"The more time moved on this past spring, the less certain we were when golf
was going to resume," recalls Dominic Racine, general manager of the PGA of Quebec
who was appointed President 2020 of the Table consultation with other organisations.

ALL TOGETHER

Success has been achieved through collective hard work.
"Meetings were held every day from March on," he said.

The efforts have been well rewarded.

"We were given the green light on May 13 to start again on the 20th. It was quick. I think that
the authorities had seen that we had done our homework well," he said.

Very important because the pandemic continues while waiting for vaccines, what is
that the golf industry must remember for the future by receiving the Pierre Nadon Award?

"Very good question. One thing is certain, the evidence is that we can very well
work together and share the same priority despite our different missions,"
says Dominic Racine.

ABOUT THE PIERRE-NADON PRIZE

Pierre Nadon has been an emeritus journalist in the major media, particularly in
Radio-Canada sports, Montreal-Matin and La Presse with a great passion for golf.
In fact, he was the editor of Golf Canada magazine during his significant career.
When he died 15 years ago, his colleagues continued his work
to highlight exceptional involvement during the year and often with
discretion.
