Sylvain Gaudet becomes 43rd President of the PGA of Québec
Following the Annual General Meeting of the PGA du Québec, held on June 5, 2024, Sylvain Gaudet was named president of the association, succeeding David Tremblay, who served as president for the past 3 years (2021-2024).
Sylvain Gaudet, a member of the association since 2004 and one of the owners of Montcalm Golf Club, has been involved in every battle since the re-launch of the PGA of Québec in 2018. He has been on the board since then and has had a direct impact on the progress of the new PGA of Quebec.
''I'm really proud and honoured to be the president of the association, thank you to all the members for putting your trust in me. I'm confident I'll be up to the challenge, thanks to the support of the staff and board, especially Scott Johnson and Anne Rogerson,” said the new president.
He will be president of the association for the next 2 years, and will be supported by Scott Johnson (vice-president) of Mount Bruno and Anne Rogerson (secretary-treasurer) of Le Champêtre, who complete the trio of officers.
At the AGM, all the directors were also announced, including two new arrivals. Jean-Charles Côté-Sauvé (Le Blainvillier) and Tommy Hazen (Golf du Lac Poulin) who will join Steve Deschênes (Royal Montreal) and Louis-Alexandre Pitre (Pinegrove).
The entire Board is delighted with the arrival of these two new members who bring a different touch and perspective from another generation of members within our association.
Interestingly enough, if all goes according to plan and the Board officers remain in office until the end of their term, Scott Johnson will be the next President in 2026, and 2 years later, history will be made when Anne Rogerson becomes the first woman to chair the PGA of Quebec.
Congratulations to all Board members on your appointments and especially, on the time you devote to the evolution of the PGA of Quebec.
