Daniel Santerre's hat trick at the TaylorMade/adidas Quebec PGA Championships
The final round of the PGA of Quebec TaylorMade and Adidas Golf was held, today, Sept. 29 at Montcalm Golf Club. Daniel Santerre managed to play two great rounds (68,66) to win the general Championship, the senior, super senior division and the assistant professional division.
The sun was present for the first round, but the final round was held in the wind and rain.
Daniel Santerre made birdies on the last three holes to confirm his win, beating Iannick Lamarre (Pinegrove) by one shot. Max Gilbert (St-Georges) and Pierre-Alexandre Bédard (Cap-Rouge) ended up in third position (-8).
“Yesterday I hit the ball really well but my putting was not that good, today my putts were great, but it was harder hitting the ball. I always keep in mind during my games to be within 15 feet of the hole about 8 or 9 times. It happened both days, especially today.” said Daniel Santerre about his win.
In the head professional division, a playoff was necessary to determine a winner. Dave Levesque made an eagle on the second playoff hole to beat Denis Girard.
The PGA of Quebec TaylorMade and Adidas Golf ended the 2020 PGA of Quebec Tour season. Pierre-Alexandre Bédard was awarded the title of player of the year, for the player who accumulated the most points in 2020. Jean Laforce won the title in the senior division and Dave Lévesque, the head professionals’ one.
